“No pessimists ever discovered the secret of the stars,
or sailed to an uncharted land,
or opened a new heaven to the human spirit. “
–Hellen Keller
Is the glass half full or half empty? This is a matter of our state of mind. Nevertheless, this disposition is crucial to our day-to-day life.
As Hellen Keller had stated so beautifully, optimism is an enabler.
Optimism empowers us and sparks us with the spirit of free living. Optimism shuts down our self critic and urging us to go farther and farther with no worries and no self doubt.
Optimism is asking what can go fantastically right all the time. Optimism is smiling even if a reason for a smile is yet to present itself. Optimism is sipping the intoxicating life around us in big, excited gulps. Optimism is knowing that we can and we will and nothing is going to stop us.
For this week’s inspiration prompt I am inviting you to the fantastic land of the optimists.

Half-empty, unfortunately. But working on it. :)v
WOW! I really needed to read this. thanks! I have a pessimist that is starting to dominate our small office and this will be great food for staying positive and shaking it off this week. Thank you!!! Oh found you through a link on One Pretty Thing!
I’m glad I could inspire you and help you through a rough day at work.
Optimism has immense value, but it isn’t easy to live by it – day in and day out. Everyone needs a reminder, here and there, in order to steer clear from pessimists and pessimism.
I found you thru One Pretty Thing also … and I have really enjoyed reading back through your old posts. I love the all the different prompts and tips … I added you to my reader!
I see the glass half empty too. So much going on in the fast paced world, that one little thing could tip it over … sigh.
Thank you for your kind comment. I can definitely understand your “glass perception”. It is a fast paced world, that means that some people (myself included) need to work harder for optimism.
my glas is always half full. i got it as a present from my late husband, who, when he died less than two years ago, after a lost war to cancer, made me understand exactly what you brought in your post.
because only when you lose what you thought was yours forever, you understand that you have to value what you have. each and every day.
it is my birthday today and i regard your post as a present.
thank you.
I am so sorry for your lost. Your late husband must have been really special.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and I wish you the very best on your birthday and all through the year.
What a timely post. I am currently at my parents home, my father having entered Hospice care about 3 weeks ago. He is the most optomistic person I know and an inspiration to be around. My husband on the other hand, is always negative. So I am caught in the middle. Being here, with my parents renews my desire to be around positive people and relearn those lessons.
Thanks,
thank you for sharing. I wish your father all well.
Optimism is most needed in times when it is very hard to get. I am really in owe for you people, who are able to grasp optimism in difficult times like these.
